Learn to create a reversible double-sided fabric where the color pattern on one side is reversed on the other! This technique is great for winter scarves and reversible hats, and can be easily adapted to more complicated fair-isle patterns. In this workshop, you will create a double-knitted baby washcloth from start to finish. Choose from a set of pre-designed pictures or create your own!
Note: students must know long tail cast-on, be able to knit & purl, and bind off.

Tunisian crochet is a needlework technique that is easy to learn, and can be placed on a spectrum about half-way between knitting and crochet. Using the most basic stitch, Tunisian crochet results in a thick, warm fabric, woven in appearance; different from both knit and crochet in a lovely & unique way. In this workshop, you learn the following basic Tunisian crochet techniques: cast-on, Tunisian simple stitch, Tunisian purl stitch, and three-color technique.
This workshop has been well received at Abuelita's, and the creativity of our workshop participants has been inspirational!

With the kind permission of designer Polly Outhwaite, the popular French Market Bag pattern will be used to illustrate a variety of fun & useful knitting techniques that is sure to please! Techniques include: magic loop, double-pointed needle knitting, kitchener stitch, embroidery, and felting. Possibilities for size and personalization of color and embroidery details are endless!
This is a two-part workshop, with a 4-week time lapse between the first and second sessions.
Session 1: creative planning, cast-on, magic loop, knitting in the round.
Session 2: embroidery techniques for decoration; kitchener stitch; felting instruction.

Do cables intimidate you? Learn the basics of cable construction and how to interpret cable patterns in both chart and written formats. Project for this course TBA. Students must know how to cast on, be able to knit & purl, and bind off.
